3rd Week EOC

Being a cohesive group within our own individuality has always been a goal for most women I know who are going out for a couple of cocktails with a quick bite.  Even a pack of men, who are out for beers, find it awkward showing up with the same patterned shirt or style of dress, wearing checker print shirts alike. Unless you’re in uniform, it doesn’t make you stand out in the crowd.

I purpose “Best Dressed”, an app that acts as an event fashion stylist amongst friends to help avoid showing up in the same attire.  I can recall a time or another where someone arrived with less than appropriate clothing on too.  This app would also be great for Family photos and office functions.  I am not familiar with an app being out and/or being popular for such reasons as “Best Dressed”.  Why not avoid the embarrassment of it all and let “Best Dressed” style your next event?
“Best Dressed” will sync to all attending within your social group keeping them informed of the latest weather as well as links to fashion trends based on a profile survey required to determine you style and favorite silhouettes for different body types by gathering this information and the same as your fellow ‘go-ers’.  By adding a theme song to the event will also act as the tempo for the night or expression.

The main idea behind it would be to properly announce what you will be wearing by a multitude of descriptions to your friends, and help keep time updates for a synchronized arrival for a seamless entrance!   Eventually leading to the actual event being able to send invites directly and/or privately.  Best Dressed can/will serve as a promoting platform for events of an array of multifaceted outings.

Best customer service experience

As discussed in class, one of my best customer services experiences has to be a time I was on port visit in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.  My friends and I had just arrived after our long voyage across the Atlantic.  We were all hungry but for more than a burger.  What we got was better than imagined. Our table was ready right away which is a plus considering we were by foot.  Immediately the celebratory spirits filled the room; connection despite the language barrier was felt and the need for a great beverage was recommended.  Our first pitcher of made to order Sangria was our entertainment while our entrées were cooking to perfection.  The taste resonates in my mind to this day.  As well as the level of services that were made available to use during the remainder of the visit.
“Brands affect people’s live simply because they are part of our daily choices and decisions” (More Than a Name: An Introduction to Branding, page 32) and this instants proves true.  My friends and I went back throughout our whole trip, telling all that we knew, even taking more friends each visit.  Although the liberty call lasted 4 days, the amount of people who visited the restaurant grew just by word of mouth.  The employees and quality of their products spoke wonders of the establishment.  Just that quick this steak house became the talk of the ship.  To this day I have remembered my time in Palma, Spain for thirteen years and for many more years to come.
If ever I am to travel back to Palma, one of my first priorities would be to retrace my steps and find this restaurant, hoping it has survived whatever economic strife may have plagued the area and order myself a steak dinner.

Week 1 EOC My voice

I'm inspired by life and the culture within it, wherever it may be, I care to understand and think logically.  I am intrigued by style, grace, and luxury.  Well received by many during my travels in the Navy helped create lifelong friendships.  While taking courses towards my higher education to explore my interests, leading to where I am now.  Where I am now is more careers specific to me and my passions and now arriving at the right doors.  Currently I am enrolled at The Art Institute of Las Vegas for my Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design.  I am looking to apply this to my own venture as a Personal Stylist.  I know that my travels around the world with the military have given me an edge as to have seen a wide range of styles first hand.  Working in retail sales, helping men and women put together an ensemble or updating the wardrobe brings a bit of pride and accomplishment.  I find joy in helping others feel and look confident.  I feel good having my closest friends over and admiring the choice of home décor and color pallets I’ve selected drawing on the several Mediterranean countries and islands our ship would visit along deployments.

I look forward to the hard work and new travel destinations I have in front of me.  I know it will take courage, flexibility, knowledge and a lot of time management to continue my climb to success.  With a clearer path than ever before, my journey is limitless with my time being now.  With the completion of my degree on the horizon, I have realized the true definition of what I want to be remembered for in my life time.  The Intelligent, Achieving and Successful Mieisha; and she did it with Style!
